The Best Bucket Songs?
If you were to sit down and create a bucket list, what music would you play in the background? Better yet, what would you listen to while you take the Bucket Quiz on this site?
So it's an interesting question: what are the best bucket list songs of all time?
I can think of three songs that fit the bill.
Let's start with the classic U2 song, "Beautiful Day". Certainly the title is right, but the lyrics are what speak to a bucket list frame-of-mind:
See the world in green and blue, See China right in front of you.
See the canyons broken by cloud, See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out. See the Bedouin fires at night, See the oil fields at first light. And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth, After the flood all the colors came out.
It was a beautiful day, Don't let it get away
Beautiful day.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes,
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights
In cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife
An inspiring score, don't you think? Finally, a recent song captures the Things-to-do-before-you-die sentiment perfectly. It's "Live like we're dying" by Kris Allen, of American Idol fame.
Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying
So what are other "bucket list" songs that come to mind? The comments section awaits.
